Spring Adventures in Nyack!

As the flowers bloom, and the semester draws to a close, I find myself itching to spend more and more time in the great outdoors. I also find myself wanting to spend time with my friends whom I will soon be separated from.

I thank God everyday for captivating Nyack, the charming town and the beautiful campus; both of which provide great places to hangout with friends in these last few weeks of school. So, if you find yourself wanting to spend time with your dearest friends in these last few weeks of school, here are some great places in and around Nyack where you can do just that!

photo 1 (5)1) Hungry? Here’s a few great places to eat:
The Art Cafe (Broadway, Nyack)- their drinks are incredible, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. They use a lot of organic ingredients, and the entire cafe is inspired by the coffee shops of Europe.
Temptations Cafe (Main Street, Nyack)- The burgers are delish, the the hot dogs are huge. There’s also outside seating!
Hogan’s Diner (downtown Nyack)- A great family friendly business. Also a chill, quiet, well-priced place to hangout with friends.

2) Feel like going for a walk? Here’s a few spots to do just that:

Hook Mountain (5-10 minutes driving)- Hook is a great place to take a hike, and there’s lots of great look-outs there. You can type “Hook Mountain” right into your GPS for easy driving directions.
Downtown Piermont (10 minutes driving)- downtown Piermont is full of tons of restaurants and shops. There’s also a great view of the river and the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Piermont Pier (10 minutes driving)- The pier is one of my favorite places in the entire world. You can drive down to the entrance, then walk down a tree- and bench-lined pier with a great view of the river, the bride, and hilly Nyack the whole way down.
Rockland Lake (15 minutes driving)- Okay, so maybe Rockland Lake is my favorite place in the world. It’s a giant lake surrounded by woods with a few small docks, and a walking path all the way around. photo 2 (6)

So Nyack students, here’s to lots of studying and lots of adventures in these final weeks! :)
