The CMA and Me

I feel so blessed to have been a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Last week I briefly talked about how I am spending my summer working at camp, and I cannot wait to see what God is going to do this summer in so many lives. Beulah Beach is a camp that is a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance or the CMA. The CMA is a protestant Christian denomination which Nyack is also a part of. They place their emphasis not only on the church here in the United States and the body here, but also to take the gospel around the world through the work of missions.

I have grown up in CMA churches, attend Nyack, and work every summer at this Christian Missionary Alliance Camp. Something I have grown to love and appreciate is the amazing family that connects all these Christians under the title of this denomination. Throughout my life I have visited many churches throughout the states and met large amounts of Christians there. Regardless of where I am I seem to always meet someone who at least knows someone I do or is connected to a CMA ministry I have been a part of. Then there have even been several occasions when on mission trips in South America where I meet people for the first time, but still share the same beliefs and are working towards the same goal of evangelizing all. It is amazing to be a part of this incredible family of believers and to see how when we work together the story of Jesus can be shared.

Personally, being a part of this amazing and driven group of believers excites me as I look forward to a future career with the alliance. Something I have been told my whole life is that there are three components to doing missions. Pray, give, and go. As I will one day be sent and supported by the CMA I see the important roles we each play I spreading the Gospel. Many of the people I have met will one day support me with many, important prayers. Others will be those who support my vision and work in financial ways. And, they all are working cohesively and obediently to send me to do work abroad. All of us have a part to play, and I’m so excited to see how God works all these things out in my life with his help and the support of his followers around me.
