One of the classes I am required to take as an Intercultural Studies major is ‘International Teams and Vibrant Communities’. The title is a mouthful, but basically you learn how to work together within teams, and become prepared for one day working inter-culturally. The major project in the class is to, as a team, raise the funds and then complete an ‘Amazing Race’ in New York City. We were given little detail besides who was in our group and a vague description of what we would be doing. Once my team finally raised the money we made plans to head into the city. We faced more than a couple of obstacles while there, but we stuck together well as a team.
Even as we got lost, yelled at, hydroplaned, and confused we did learn a lot. We were a loyal team even as the day was riddled with challenges. I do appreciate this trip looking back as we learned a lot about each other and the city. I also wanted to share our experience with you through some pictures since the city is always a wonderful place for an impromptu photo shoot. We had our challenges, but as you can see we also had a lot of fun.
