Ephesians Week 7 Day 5

Eph 4:17-32

In the movie Captain America, Steve Rogers is injected with a
serum that transforms him into a supersoldier and he uses his
enhanced abilities to fight evil and protect American citizens.
In the same way, when we become Christians, God
empowers us to do things we were never capable of before.
He commands us to abstain from sexual immorality, to tell the
truth and to forgive because He knows He’s given us the
power to do that. When we understand what God has given
us, we’re able to live the life He’s called us to live.
As powerful as Captain America is, he didn’t stay alone. In the
movie The Avengers, he joins several other superheroes and
they work together to fight off alien creatures invading Earth
from another world. Each of the heroes are dangerous by
themselves individually, but when they come together they
become a greater force for good. In the same way, as
Christians, we were never meant to be our own individual
spiritual superheroes. It’s God’s intention that we serve each
other, love each other and work together to bring God’s
Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. Imagine how much the
Kingdom of God would advance on Earth if Christians were
building each other up instead of fighting each other and how
powerful of a witness that would be to nonbelievers. It’s this
unity that God is aiming for. Are you an individual trying to
make it on your own or are you teaming up with other
“heroes” to reveal the Kingdom?
